At Grand Amazon Lodge and Tours we strive to give you an awesome Peru Amazon tours by providing an experienced, private guide, a private river view bungalow with a balcony and a hammock, and free WiFi on this amazing Amazon trip. We are located near Iquitos, Peru, in a pristine, primary Amazon rainforest that is high in biodiversity, with 10 species of monkyes, sloths, capybara and the endangered pink dolphins, giant river otters, and hundreds of species of birds. It is truly paradise on earth that you will discover through privately guided morning, afternoon, and night excursions on our unforgettable Iquitos Amazon tours.
Your experienced, bilingual, private guide will be dedicated just to you, going at your pace and catering to your interests, from the moment you land at Iquitos airport before 3 pm, or when we pick you up from an Iquitos hotel. We use smaller boats with smaller, quieter motors not to disturb the wildlife, driven by local villagers who also help in spotting animals. Transportation, accommodation, all meals, all excursions, and a ride on the mighty Amazon River are all included in these Peru Amazon tours so you can focus on serenely enjoying the beauty of nature.
Relax in your hammock on your river-view balcony surrounded by pristine rainforest and wildlife. Enjoy delicious, authentic Peruvian meals created by our excellent chef in the stunning octagonal dining room, with an original canoe bar and free WiFi, so you can share your unforgettable Peruvian Amazon trip. The lodge has a privileged location, being the furthest up the Yanayacu River, upstream of all the other lodges and villages, thus free of constant noisy boats passing by, allowing you to listen to the beautiful jungle sounds. Also, it is the only lodge in the area with solar panels (and fans in the rooms), thus eliminating the need to use a noisy generator most days, allowing you to be immersed in the beautiful sounds of nature.
The founders are five scientists who not only love nature and wildlife but also seek to protect, study, and educate others about it.
While enjoying and learning about the largest rainforest in the world on this Amazon trip, you will directly help conserve it and support the locals through your stay with us. We help locals with schooling, medical needs, and access to drinking water, and we reintroduced several animal species into the area.
All excursions are conducted with experienced, friendly, private guides, allowing us to tailor activities to your pace, interests, and comfort level.
Grand Amazon Lodge And Tours operates near Iquitos, Peru, a city accessible only by air or river, considered the gateway to the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. Iquitos is the only place in Peru where you can see, sail, and swim in the Amazon River, observe and swim with the pink dolphins, and see the largest aquatic plant in the world – the Victoria Regia.
Unlike many lodges near Iquitos that are in secondary jungle, we are located more than 3 hours away in a primary rainforest that is rich in wildlife, next to a village that is part of Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Reserve and close to Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
Among the lodges on the Yanayacu River, we are located furthest upstream, passed all the other lodges and the village, and away from their boat noises coming in and out, so you can have an immersive experience in the wonderful jungle melodies.

The lodge staff made both the celebration of our Anniversary and my birthday so very special!! The staff at the lodge were all wonderful and friendly… We saw all 7 species of monkeys that live in the area. We saw multiple sloths. Too many bird species to count. A family of 9 capybara. And so many other animals. Just amazing!!
I can’t say enough good things about this tour and the people who run it. My experience was so much more than I hoped for. My guide was extremely knowledgeable and helped me see tons of wildlife… The chef is incredible, the lodge itself is absolutely beautiful, and the people who work there are so kind, welcoming, and eager to tend to your every need or desire. I highly, highly recommend!
We had a wonderful experience with Grand Amazon Lodge & Tours. They made us feel at home in the jungle. Our guide went out of his way to make sure we got the most out of our experience, we spent so much time on the Amazon river and saw so much wild life, it’s truly fantastic. Our tour was also individualized, so it did not feel like we were actually doing a tour. I recommend this place to everyone!!!
